HIGHLIGHTS
Hvar’s cathedral - together with Bishop’s palace, encloses the east side of the biggest square in Dalmatia - Hvar’s Pjaca (St. Stephen’s sq.), dedicated to St. Stephen, the Pope and martyr, patron of dioceses and city of Hvar.
Fortica (Španjola) fortress - was built above old city in the mid 16th century. Its architecture and military history will thrill you as much as the view of the city of Hvar and surrounding islands.
Arsenal – one of the first municipal theatres in Europe. It was founded in 1612., erected on the ancient Arsenal (a space used for repairing of galleons, and a storage of various seafaring tools). The theatre’s exterior is mostly preserved in its original form.
The Franciscan monastery - was built in 15th century as a retreat for sailors. Within the monastery there are the artifacts exhibited in the monastery collection which is also the oldest on the island. It consists of paintings, manuscripts, old coins and incunabula.
Pakleni otoci - the oldest and most famous Hvar’s resort, spacious lagoon with shallow and sandy beach, surrounded by the thick, pine forest, fragrant heather and rosemary bushes and various, exotic plants.
DESCRIPTION
Meeting point is in front of the agency. During the pleasurable boat ride, you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Split and other islands on our way to the one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world, Hvar. Our first stop is Milna, where you can have your morning coffee while admiring an amazing landscape. After a short break we will proceed to our final destination, magnificent port of the town Hvar above which firmly stands the Fortica fortress.
We will let you get acquainted with the town by yourselves – explore its Mediterranean attractions and good will, rich historical and cultural heritage and trendy present. You will be able to enter the cathedral of St. Stjepan, built on the foundations of a Catholic church from the 6th century, and get to know about the illustrious socio-cultural symbols of the town – the theatre and arsenal. The late-gothic Hektorović palace will fascinate you with its might and beauty. By conquering the Fortica fortress, you will be able to see the collection of old vases and other ancient and middle-age exhibits as well as enjoy the panoramic view of the entire town Hvar and our next destination – Pakleni islands. Choose one of many famous family-owned restaurants. The island of St. Clement is where you will be able to enjoy your free time, explore the island and swim in the beautiful bays feeling the unforgettable touch of nature. Enjoy a full day of fun & sun, surrounded by the turquoise, crystal waters, beautiful beaches, the smell of lavander and pinaple trees.
